It totally undermines and undervalues the time that the developers / designers / authors / whatever put in to the project you're using. Take for instance my scripts: I don't currently take donations or accept payment for them, but that doesn't make them worthless. If I calculated the amount of time that goes into updating, extending and supporting those scripts, I'd be looking at a loss of thousands and thousands of pounds. Every person's time is worth something. If you (speaking generally, not specifically) have the money to contribute to an otherwise free project by way of time or donations, I see no reason not to. But they obey us when we tell them to. I've got a miniature schnauzer, and the hair towards the bottom of her feet and her beard always get tangled from fighting our other dog and going outside. It's a mess. :\ I feel bad for your dog (that she got injured). I don't know, I always feel bad for dogs for some reason. I guess I'm just weird. :D We're too nice to our dogs, haha.
